As a queer installation artist and mother, I build immersive environments that offer joy, reflection, and refuge—especially in times of cultural and ecological uncertainty. My body of work, Elsewheres, imagines surreal, biomorphic dreamscapes: floating ecosystems and sculptural collages that evoke the feel of fantastical terrariums. These spaces are both escapes from reality, and hopeful reimaginings of it—an invitation to wonder, to feel, and to belong.

Constructed from reclaimed plywood, the work is grounded in transformation—of material, of meaning, of world. Collage elements made from cut magazine imagery further this alchemy: skies become stones, dirt transforms into flora, and leaves morph into hybrid blooms. Nature photography, once intended to document, is reassembled into something otherworldly and new. The result is a lush, layered messiness that blurs boundaries between the organic and invented, the remembered and the dreamed.

These pieces carry forward the values at the heart of my practice: re-use, joy, and community. I make this work to imagine other possibilities—not just for myself, but for all of us.

Echoes of Elsewhere 213 is a collage on reclaimed wood measuring 7.5”H x 9”W.
